Colonial America

The Mapping of US History:  13 Colonies & Triangular Trade

Out of all the layers of our map that we create, this one is definitely the most detailed. This map will include information covered in Weeks 3, 4 and 5 including:
  • Jamestown and Plymouth
  • New England, Middle and Southern Colonies
  • Economic development of the colonies
  • Mercantilism and Triangular Trade
Below are 4 instructional videos that will walk your kids through this layer of the map. It is not recommended that kids try to complete the whole layer in one or two days. Work on it in chunks so you can tell the story of how the 13 Colonies developed. Use the curiosity questions to get kids engaged and wanting to find answers to those essential questions.
